Budgets, bills, investments, invoices, rental properties and taxes in one easy app. Download it once, create your account on your own computer, and use it with or without the internet.
Flip between Personal, Business and Rental with one switch, or see it all together. Each keeps its own budgets, reports and tax forms.
Built-in learning fills in categories the way you do, spots unusual charges and finds forgotten subscriptions. All of it runs on your computer.
Quarterly estimated-tax helper, Schedule C and E summaries, deductible-expense report and a one-click export for your accountant.
Spending, income, net worth, cash flow, investments, unpaid invoices and more. Export any report to a spreadsheet or PDF.
Send an invoice, record the payment, and Ledgerly puts the income on the right tax line automatically. Track it all even if business and personal money share one bank account.
Categories map to IRS form lines, including your mileage deduction, so tax time takes minutes instead of weekends.
Ledgerly helps you prepare. It isn't tax advice.
Ledgerly isn't a website and doesn't need one. After you download it, everything happens on your own computer, even with the internet unplugged.
When you first open Ledgerly you create your account with a password. There's no sign-up, email or server. You also get a recovery key in case you ever forget your password.
Your whole data file is encrypted with AES-256 and your password. Ledgerly locks itself when you step away, and daily backups are encrypted too.
The app blocks its own internet access. The only exception is an optional AI assistant that's off unless you choose to turn it on.
Export from Quicken for Windows (QIF) or Quicken for Mac (CSV), or just drag the file onto Ledgerly. Your accounts, categories, tags, splits, transfers and investments come across, and your balances match to the penny.
No subscription. Try every Pro feature free for 30 days. After that, the free version keeps working forever and your data is always yours.
Forever
One-time · yours to keep
Your activation key arrives by email. Enter it in Settings → License; no internet needed.
Version 1.3.1. Pick your computer below.
Ubuntu or Debian? Get the .deb package instead. Not sure which Mac you have? Click the Apple menu → About This Mac. “Chip” means Apple chip; “Processor … Intel” means Intel.
Open the file you downloaded and follow the installer. On Mac, drag Ledgerly into Applications.
Pick a password and save your recovery key. This happens on your computer, and you don't need an email.
Add accounts, import bank or Quicken files, or explore with sample data first. No internet required.
No. Ledgerly Free is free forever. Ledgerly Pro is a one-time purchase: you get an activation key by email and Pro is unlocked for good. There are no monthly fees, and nothing locks you out of your own data.
Your key carries a digital signature that Ledgerly checks on your computer, so it never needs to contact a server. If you reinstall or get a new computer, enter the same key again.
Only to download it. After that Ledgerly works completely offline. Updates are optional: download the new version from this page whenever you like, and your data is kept.
In one encrypted file on your computer. We never receive it, and there's no cloud copy. Without your password (or recovery key), the file can't be read.
Use the recovery key you saved during setup. Keep it somewhere safe, because nobody, including us, can reset your password for you.
Yes. In Ledgerly, choose Settings → Backup & data → Back up now. Install Ledgerly on the new computer and choose “Restore from a Ledgerly backup”.
No, and that's on purpose: automatic bank syncing means sharing your bank login with an outside service. Instead, download a CSV, QFX or QIF file from your bank's website and import it. Ledgerly categorizes it for you and skips duplicates.
If you choose to turn it on (Settings → AI), you can ask questions like “Where could I cut back?” It uses Claude by Anthropic with your own API key and needs the internet. When you ask something, the parts of your data needed to answer are sent to Anthropic. It's off by default, and the built-in learning features work without it.
Windows SmartScreen and macOS Gatekeeper warn about apps they don't recognize yet. On Windows click More info → Run anyway. On a Mac, try to open Ledgerly once and click Done, then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway (on older macOS you can instead right-click the app and choose Open). You can check your download against the SHA256SUMS file on the release page.
